The new pad is perfect for the boys being less than two miles to the beach and across the street from the middle school athletic fields. We are now the proud owners of a pool and hot tub and have been doing daily cannonballs and evening soaks in. Niall Jr is in heaven!
The Casey's took our almost annual trip to Squaw Valley USA in March. Niall Jr took his first lessons and was able to take runs from the top after 2 lessons with Dad. I consider it a success with no broken bones this year.
Mimi retired at the end of April and took a solo road trip out to visit us to stay for the month of May. She was able to spend lots of time with the boys and Uncle Brendan before he returns back East to begin graduate school at Duke University. We are sad to see him go but happy he is fulfilling his goals and taking advantage of a great opportunity. The boys have been wearing their Duke gear proudly!
Niall is nearing 4 and getting tall and skinny. He is loving pre-school with his teachers Eva and Leslie. He can count to his favorite number 21 and his favorite colors are pink, purple and now red. Every day he manages to sneak some sort of batman article of clothing on -socks, underwear, cape- and loves his "fast shoes".
Ben is talking non-stop, mostly babbling, but has a few recognizable words. "no, ball, cracker, wa-wa (water), purple, da-da, ma-ma, help" . Favorite song is 5 little monkeys complete with pointing and banging on his head. He likes to point out all of his boo-boos and has been stung by 3 bees in his short life. He is trying to keep up with big brother as much as possible and so far can bounce a ball, kick a soccer ball and attempt to swim/drown in the pool. Look out big brother!
